At Touching Hearts at Home of Charlotte, we are committed to providing compassionate, dependable, and personalized Non-Medical In-Home care to seniors, people with disabilities, and other individuals who wish to remain safely and comfortably in the place they call home. We understand that every family faces unique challenges when seeking care for a loved one, and we pride ourselves on creating customized care plans that meet each individual’s unique needs regardless of complexity and for up to 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
Our approach is rooted in respect, dignity, and kindness. We believe that high-quality care goes beyond completing tasks; It’s about enhancing quality of life, nurturing meaningful connections, and providing peace of mind for both clients and their families. Josh and Carol Savitz, Owners
Josh and Carol Savitz are the proud co-owners of Touching Hearts at Home of Charlotte. They founded and operate the agency locally with a shared mission: to provide exceptional, compassionate, and reliable care that enhances the quality of life, dignity, and independence of every individual served in the place they call home. Their decision to enter the homecare field was inspired by personal experiences caring for their grandparents, Josh’s mother who is a registered nurse in homecare, and a desire to find deeper purpose in their professional lives by serving others and strengthening support for the elderly in their community.
Married since June of 2022, Josh and Carol have called Charlotte home for over a decade. Josh brings experience in engineering, operations, and business leadership, applying a detail-oriented, problem-solving, and people-centered approach to ensure every client and caregiver relationship is handled with compassion, consistency, and excellence. Carol brings expertise in marketing, customer service, and small business development, fostering a culture of care and delivering services rooted in quality and empathy.

Evelyn Cruz, Agency Director and Service Supervisor (RN)
With more than 40 years of nursing experience, Evelyn has served in a wide range of clinical and leadership roles, including Charge Nurse, Nursing Supervisor, and Nurse Manager. She has overseen nursing staff, managed unit operations, and supported interdisciplinary teams across outpatient, hospital, and community-based settings.
Her background includes experience in geriatrics, home health, emergency care, primary care, rehabilitation, pediatrics, internal medicine, and women’s health. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to regulatory excellence, staff development, quality improvement, and patient education, particularly for individuals with complex medical needs.
Bilingual in English and Spanish, Evelyn is known for delivering culturally competent, patient-centered care and for mentoring fellow healthcare professionals. After two decades serving Veterans, she retired and later returned to the workforce as the Agency Director and Service Supervisor of Touching Hearts at Home, where she continues to champion compassionate, high-quality care for individuals from all walks of life.
