Happy Holidays From Touching Hearts at Home!
As the holiday season fills the air with joy and gratitude, we want to take a moment to thank you…
We understand COVID-19 has drastically impacted our community in many different ways. It’s during times like these that we, as a community, must look after one another. With our senior population at higher risk, we provide support and peace of mind for families to ensure good health and safety.
Our Commitment to Preventing the Spread of Infectious Diseases
Touching Hearts at Home is committed to the safety of every individual client, caregiver, staff member, management and family member in our organization, and we are committed to preventing and minimizing the spread of infectious diseases such as Influenza and COVID-19.
One of the safest places our clients can be is at home, and we are there for our clients wherever it is that they call home. We provide care for a population that is particularly susceptible to communicable diseases, and we want to assure you that we remain up-to-date and vigilant with our staff training in accordance with the latest guidance from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and State of Florida. This includes staying home while sick, hand washing to prevent spread and wearing PPE (personal protective equipment).
Prevention
• Our staff follows hygiene procedures directed by the CDC, including vigorous and frequent handwashing with soap and water, use of sanitizing gels
• Home sanitization and use of disinfectant wipes to frequently wipe down surfaces in living spaces.
• Our caregivers are leveraging technology to keep connectivity between our clients and their families. Social check-in calls, photos and video conferencing calls allow our clients to connect with their loved ones, even during lockdowns at assisted living communities. In addition, we are activating The Family Room in our ClearCare system so families can keep track of their loved ones progress and care notes.
• Enhanced errand/delivery service for all of our clients to ensure that they do not have to go out to pick up prescriptions, do grocery shopping, and other needs. We are also transporting and accompanying our clients to their appointments and doctors visits.
• All employees have an established protocol to stay home if they are ill with any sickness so as to not infect any of our clients or their family members.
• Our caregivers are trained to monitor and immediately report any symptoms or changes in behavior of our clients to management staff and proper personnel. Our scheduling and reporting software allows us to notify the appropriate family members in real-time and we encourage each caregiver to seek appropriate medical attention.
Please do not hesitate to call us during this challenging time if you or someone you know requires care and support. We are here for you even in unexpected times.
