"Touch a Senior's Heart" Greeting Card Campaign

The Health Resource & Services Administration (HRSA) reports that loneliness and social isolation can be as damaging to health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day. According to the report, 43% of seniors feel lonely on a regular basis, let alone during a crisis where lockdowns and self-quarantine are required. For that reason, Touching Hearts at Home is asking for children and adults to create greeting cards that will be distributed to seniors in hopes that we can “Touch a Senior’s Heart” and provide comfort and joy. Anyone who wishes to create a special greeting to a senior should mail their message or artwork to Touching Hearts at Home at 4051 NW 43rd St #37, Gainesville, FL 32606. Our team will distribute the cards to seniors throughout the community. Please remember to include your name and phone number with your special greeting for a chance to win a prize. First place will receive an Amazon gift card and local Gainesville restaurant gift card. Second place will receive an activity package with books, puzzles, and art supplies. Third place will receive an at-home movie snack package.

Thank you to all who have submitted special messages and greeting cards thus far. Your heartwarming cards and messages have brought so many seniors joy!

A very special thank you to Carter Ratliff (7 years old) and the Robinson family (6 years old, 7 years old, 11 years old) for making many greeting cards to distribute to many senior communities.
