Their doctor might want to do this regularly if they are at risk for high or low blood pressure. You will need to ask their doctor what blood pressure levels are normal for your loved one. You will need to ask the doctor when your loved one\u2019s blood pressure should be checked (multiple times a day, daily, a few times a week, etc.). If your elderly loved one\u2019s blood pressure levels are off, you should talk to their doctor to see what should be done about it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Cholesterol Levels <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unhealthy cholesterol levels can lead to a heart attack. When you or the elder care provider takes your loved one to their doctor\u2019s appointments, there should be a conversation about cholesterol. You will want to make sure your elderly loved one\u2019s cholesterol levels are healthy. If they are too high, find out what level they should be at. Also, be sure to ask the doctor what they want your elderly loved one doing to manage their cholesterol levels. Then, you and the homecare providers can help your loved one to get their cholesterol levels down.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Medication Management<\/em><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You should also talk to your elderly loved one\u2019s doctor about their medications. It is important that your elderly loved one, the homecare providers, other family caregivers, and yourself know what medications your loved one is on. It is also important to know when these medications should be taken, how they should be taken, and any side effects that might occur.
