Gainesville, June 1, 2022 \u2014 The American Heart Association, the world\u2019s leading nonprofit organization focused on ensuring longer, healthier lives for all, has named Christina Ramos, Executive Director of Touching Hearts at Home and Daurine Wehbe, Realtor with Coldwell Banker MM Parrish as the 2022 Alachua County Heart Walk Co-chairs. In this role, Daurine and Christina are charged with a $145,000 fundraising goal to support thelifesaving work of the American Heart Association.<\/p>\n

Heart Walk, the signature community event, unites employees and community members in celebrating health and honoring survivors. Through this signature experience, we move, have fun, and raise lifesaving funds. The program is anchored in workplace events that inspire employees to be more engaged, reconnect with colleagues, get in their physical activity, support a great cause, and have a lot of fun doing it.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Alachua County Heart Walk will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022<\/strong><\/em> at Santa Fe College with registration opening at 8<\/strong><\/em> a.m.<\/strong><\/em> The Heart Walk unites the community in celebrating health and honoring survivors. Daurine and Christina will be joined by other like-minded city leaders working to increase physical and mental health, combat burnout, and promote community engagement.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The funds raised at the Heart Walk fund the mission of the American Heart Association to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives while supporting priority issues in Gainesville. Money raised by Heart Walk participants helps our community through professional training, community education, and research funding. Over the past decade, the American Heart Association has given almost $11 million in research dollars to Alachua County. Our work here locally will continue to support the Association\u2019s 2024 Health Equity Impact Goal, reducing barriers to health care access and quality.<\/p>\n
