Our answer is often simple. We got into the business because we wanted to show our daughter, Ella, that you can make a living while serving others. Yes, this business fits our skill set. Our strengths and weaknesses compliment each other. Yes, we love helping others. Yes, we researched and understand the growing need for Home Care in our market. But our &#8220;why&#8221; is deeper than that.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_411\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-411\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-411\" src=\"http:\/\/touchinghearts.com\/blog\/middletn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/haley-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Caregiver Brentwood TN - Know Your \u201cWhy\u201d\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-411\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Caregiver Brentwood TN &#8211; Know Your \u201cWhy\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Last night, I had the honor of meeting with a new client and her daughter. Our client, who lives alone, has cancer and her daughter currently lives overseas. Her daughter is home to make sure her mom is prepared for the fight of her life. As I sat with them, I was amazed by the independence and strength of both women. One faced with death, but determined to do it on her own terms. Not wanting help, but resolved that there is no alternative. Another, her daughter, equally strong, but crying inwardly because she just dropped her oldest off at college and is now preparing to head back overseas knowing her mom is ill. As we talked through the Plan of Care, I was reminded of the great sense of responsibility that we have to our clients. A responsibility to walk with them, to love them, to support them, to encourage them in their darkest hour. Our clients are not just the person we are providing care for. Our clients are also the family Caregiver. Last night, those two ladies reminded me of the eternal bond between a mother and daughter. They reminded me of how strong each woman is. They reminded me that it takes courage to ask for help, even when you have lived a life of independence.<\/p>\n<p><em>Every day, we learn from our clients, our Caregivers, and our team. I am so grateful to be on this journey and honored to play a small role in the lives of our clients and Caregivers. It is an honor. A privilege.
