Touching Hearts at Home (originally known as Caring Companions) is a non-medical homecare company that began in St. Paul/Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1996. Our mission is to provide services for seniors in their own homes, maintaining each client’s high quality of life by providing friendship, kindness and care through companionship that preserves a strong peace of mind for both the client and their family. We see the opportunity to provide caregiving services to seniors as a gift that we must respectfully receive and give back with great integrity, always putting empathy and the belief in the dignity of all people in the forefront of our work.
Touching Hearts at Home originated from the natural compassion of Founder and Touching Hearts Inc. CEO Renae Peterson, who received such a strong example of caregiving, kindness and concern from her mother, 96-year-old Melvina Peterson, that it became her passion. It is this legacy of love and passion for serving others that has been passed on to a second generation owner of Touching Hearts at Home, St. Paul. Jarrod Peterson took over ownership from his aunt Renae in 2009, and strives to live up to the legacy that his grandmother Melvina has inspired.
Jarrod Peterson, Owner
Jarrod is a second-generation owner of the St. Paul Touching Hearts at Home office. He took over this office from his aunt and the Touching Hearts founder, Renae Peterson. This is truly a family business and therefore the care of our clients is very personal to him. Prior to taking over the St. Paul office, Jarrod learned the senior care business from his aunt while working for her at the Touching Hearts corporate office where he was responsible for training and supporting Touching Hearts franchise owners and developing caregiver training for the entire Touching Hearts at Home family. Jarrod is involved with every aspect of operations in the St. Paul office, but he gets the most joy from the time he gets to spend with clients and their families.
