Heart Walk, the signature community event, unites employees and community members in celebrating health and honoring survivors. Through this signature experience, we move, have fun, and raise lifesaving funds. The program is anchored in workplace events that inspire employees to be more engaged, reconnect with colleagues, get in their physical activity, support a great cause, and have a lot of fun doing it.
The Alachua County Heart Walk will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Santa Fe College with registration opening at 8 a.m. The Heart Walk unites the community in celebrating health and honoring survivors. Daurine and Christina will be joined by other like-minded city leaders working to increase physical and mental health, combat burnout, and promote community engagement.
The funds raised at the Heart Walk fund the mission of the American Heart Association to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives while supporting priority issues in Gainesville. Money raised by Heart Walk participants helps our community through professional training, community education, and research funding. Over the past decade, the American Heart Association has given almost $11 million in research dollars to Alachua County. Our work here locally will continue to support the Association’s 2024 Health Equity Impact Goal, reducing barriers to health care access and quality.
