Does Medicare or Medicaid pay for home care?
Can I use long-term care insurance to pay for home care?
- Check whether your loved one meets the policy’s “triggers” (usually needing help with 2 or more daily activities, or cognitive impairment)
- Understand the waiting period (elimination period)
- Complete the claim paperwork and assessments
- Send ongoing care notes and invoices for reimbursement
Bring the policy to your assessment or have it handy when you call 303-632-8786, and our office team will walk you through it step by step.
Can veterans use VA benefits to pay for home care?
- Talk with the VA primary care provider (PCP). Let them know your loved one needs help at home with things like bathing, dressing, or safety.
- Get a VA needs assessment. The VA decides what help is needed and how many hours it will approve.
- Ask for Touching Hearts at Home. Once care is approved, request us as the provider. We coordinate with the VA and start care once authorization is in place.
Finally, give your VA PCP this information:
- Touching Hearts at Home – Denver Metro
- NPI #1508318452
- Phone: 303-632-8786 (answered 24/7)
Not sure where to start? Call us. We’ll help you know what to ask the VA for.

Our Caregivers
How are your caregivers screened and trained?
Every caregiver has at least 2 years of proven professional caregiving experience and must pass our hands-on skills lab test before working with clients. They’re employees, not contractors, and are bonded and insured, with background and reference checks. Training covers personal care, safe transfers, dementia communication, fall prevention, and support for stroke, diabetes, and heart failure. A Care Manager and our RN supervise with regular visits.
Our caregivers stay with us: 73% have been on our team a year or longer, and some for 10 years. That means more consistent care for your loved one.
Can we meet the caregiver, or ask for a change?
