What We Learned at Reunion Inverness Parkinson’s Educational Open House | Touching Hearts at Home Aurora, CO

Congratulations to the team at Reunion Inverness on hosting such a meaningful and informative event!

We had the pleasure of attending Reunion Inverness Rehabilitation Hospital’s Parkinson’s Educational Open House in recognition of National Parkinson’s Awareness Month. It was an extremely educational and engaging presentation, and I was especially impressed with Reunion’s program for Parkinson’s and movement disorders.  The key takeaway I learned is exercising is the best way to decrease the progression of Parkinson’s Disease.  We joined in on some PT exercise examples and learned of the many classes available in Denver designed for people with Parkinson’s.  Check out the class schedule on the Parkinson’s website.

For a loved one who is experiencing a decline in mobility, needs a boost in function, or needs more support to improve movement and safety, this kind of focused program is invaluable. The education shared last night helps us at Touching Hearts at Home strengthen our Parkinson’s specialty program, our exercise daily tasks, the care plans  we create and the care we provide so we may provide better services for our clients and family caregivers living with Parkinson’s and other movement disorders. It truly makes us better carers.

We are grateful to collaborate with partners like Reunion Inverness who are so committed to advancing care and creating better outcomes for those we serve. Together, we build a stronger, more informed community for our clients and their families.
