Ways Companion Care at Home Helps Seniors to Avoid Falls
Fall prevention is a big part of what companion care at home does to help aging adults stay safe. They…
In honor of “National Caregiver Day”, we would like to thank all of the Caregivers out there that provide compassionate care for the elderly. It is often said that kindness can transform someone’s dark moment with a blaze of light. Our Caregivers bring sunshine on even the most gloomy days.
Last week, Middle Tennessee was hit with unprecedented weather. Snow and ice made the road conditions treacherous. In order to ensure that our Clients had the care they needed while also keeping our Caregivers safe, we had to make numerous adjustments to the schedule. While many of our Companion Care clients postponed services to help keep Caregivers off the roads, our Hospice and 24/7 clients just did not have that option.
At Touching Hearts, we appreciate ALL of our Caregivers. However, today, we want to recognize a few Caregivers that went above the call of duty last week. These Caregivers did what it took to ensure no client was left alone. Some of these Caregivers worked around the clock so that we did not have to ask another Caregiver to travel in unsafe road conditions. Others were open to accepting a safe ride to shift from a Volunteer group called the 4×4 Tennessee Jeep Club. While others arranged for grocery delivery and other random acts of kindness. We could not be prouder of the work they do! The following Caregivers truly went the extra mile last week!
