Some clients become more than just familiar faces. They become part of the Touching Hearts at Home family. This wonderful couple is no exception, and we have been honored to be their chosen home care provider for over two years.
During that time, our care partners have had the privilege of learning about their remarkable life story. The husband proudly shares his Italian heritage, tracing his family roots back to Cambria, Italy. Recently, their grandson made an exciting discovery during a visit to the area: a local boulevard bears the family name, a special reminder of the legacy his family has built in Central New York.
His father was one of ten siblings who immigrated to the United States and settled in Chittenango, where he was born and raised. Their family’s journey reflects the hard work, determination, and strong family values that have been passed down through generations.
Married for an incredible 62 years, this couple has built a beautiful life together, raising two children and welcoming five grandchildren into the family. Their enduring love and commitment continue to inspire those around them.
Both enjoyed fulfilling careers dedicated to their respective professions. He spent 52 years working in the accounting department at Diemolding Corporation, where he built relationships that have lasted a lifetime. In fact, the owner’s grandson keeps in touch through weekly phone calls and regular visits, a testament to the impact he made throughout his career.
His wife served as a nurse at Upstate Medical University Hospital in the Infection Control Department, where she helped co-write protocols for nursing homes, contributing to the health and safety of countless individuals.
Today, our care partners enjoy spending time with this special couple. One of their favorite ways to connect is through food. Together, they prepare homemade Italian meals and occasionally venture out to local restaurants to enjoy some authentic Italian cuisine.
We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of their journey. Their rich family history, dedication to their careers, and unwavering devotion to each other remind us of the importance of preserving the stories that make each person unique.
